Dalia Kaddari prepares for the new season: «Let's hope she runs in the 400 too»
Interview with coach Fabrizio Fanni
The memory of the bronze won at the European Championships in Munich is still well impressed. But the medal in the 4x100 is for Dalia Kaddari not a reason to rest on her laurels but a new stimulus to do even better in a 2023 that is getting ever closer. The Fiamme Oro sprinter is preparing for a season where there will be many important appointments, accompanied by the coach Fabrizio Fanni who is always ready to analyze the details and with whom she has created a partnership capable of distinguishing herself on an international level.
Fanni 2022 was a year of great results.
" Definitely yes. First the Italian record in the 4x100 at the World Championships in Eugene with 42''71 then shortly after the bronze at the European Championships where Dalia also reached the individual final in the 200m finishing seventh. We can be satisfied, it was a significant year that gives us a lot of confidence».
What are the most important moments besides the World Cup and the European Championships?
« There was the indoor staff on 60 with 7''38, the second personal performance on the half lap in 22''83, there were many important stages: every race is fundamental, as well as every training session because they allow an athlete to get involved and get new ideas for reflection».
How far are you in your winter preparation?
« We are in full preparation. We started in early October and week after week we will increase the number of sessions».
What's new introduced?
« More loads of strength, all clearly done gradually. A lot of attention is also focused on the running technique».
When is the debut for 2023?
« We are waiting for the calendar to be published by the Federation. It will certainly be a year full of commitments: there will be the European Nations Cup, the Under 23 European Championships and the World Championships».
Will the new year see Kaddari make her debut in the 400m?
« Let's hope, we wanted to do a 400 already at the end of this year but in the end we postponed it. The lap of the track is a race where Dalia can run fast, she herself is curious to try it and see where she can get. We'll see along the way, undoubtedly the will is there as well as the premises to do well».
