There are seven of them and they will be open until 11pm. An extraordinary opening to celebrate history and culture, but also virtuous collaborations. Today in Cagliari, thanks to the agreement between the national museums, the university, the municipality and the Higher Regional Ethnographic Institute (Isre), seven museums will remain open until 11pm. Be careful though, the last entry is at 10pm.

Places

In the Cittadella: the Archaeological Museum (ticket reduced to 4.50 euros without prejudice to the usual free admissions); the National Art Gallery (free entry from 7pm); the Clemente Susini Anatomical Wax Museum (free entry); the Stefano Cardu Siamese Art Museum (reduced ticket to 1.50 euros); the Cocco Collection Ethnographic Museum (ticket reduced to 3 euros). Collaboration

Conceived in the wake of collaboration between Cagliari's institutions, the initiative "Towards the city of museums" unfolds a wide variety of proposals: from the twentieth century art of the Municipal Gallery, to the Siamese art of the Cardu Museum, to the Sardinian material culture of the collection Cocco in the Ethnographic Museum, up to the most ancient history of the island told by the Archaeological Museum.

“Prendas torradas”

With the interventions of Alessandra Menesini, art critic, Francesco Muscolino, director, and Maria Antonietta Mongiu, member of the Board of Directors of the National Museums, the National Art Gallery also hosts an appointment of "Prendas torradas" (8pm). During the evening, Marina Madeddu, painter, photographer, stylist, originally from Teulada, will donate some of her works to the Museums. Member of the "Gruppo Concreto" founded by Ermanno Leinardi, the artist was inspired by the historical avant-garde and programmed and optical art. The evening will end with the performance of the OCS Sextet, composed of Riccardo Ghiani, Olesya Emelyanenko, Simone Pittau, Salvatore Rea, Vladimiro Atzeni, Andrea Piras. In addition to the Archaeological Museum, in the Cittadella it will be possible to visit the Museum of anatomical waxworks by Clemente Susini and the collection of Siamese art housed in the Cardu Museum: a repertoire of objects of notable workmanship, dating back to between the 14th and 19th centuries, coming from Siam and South East Asia, from Japan, China and India. The Ethnographic Museum shows a precious testimony of the material culture of Sardinia, composed of around two thousand objects (jewels, tools, furniture, textile artefacts), which date back mainly to the second half of the nineteenth century and the first fifty years of the twentieth century, belonging to the magistrate of Villasor Luigi Cocco. The municipal art gallery includes, among others, the permanent exhibition of the Ingrao collection, with the works of some great Italian masters of the twentieth century, and those of Francesco Ciusa, one of the greatest Sardinian artists. Finally, the Palazzo di Città hosts the photographs of Robert Capa.
