The Confraternity of the Holy Cross of Sassari intensifies the path of rediscovery of the origins of the cult and tradition in the adoration of the Cross of Sardinia in the name not only of religious values but also of the historical, artistic and cultural relevance in general, that this historical event of the association that arrived in Sardinia starting from 1267 has brought to the Sardinian social reality.

In recent days, the event “The Holy Cross in Sardinia” was held, thanks to the contribution of the Regional Law 17/2023, the result of the memorandum of understanding signed in Codrongianos by the Academy of Fine Arts 'Mario Sironi' of Sassari and the Confraternity of Santa Croce.

The mayor, Cristian Budroni, and the president of the Accademia 'Sironi', Giorgio Auneddu Mossa, were present. The event was presented by the Prior of the Arciconfraternita del Gonfalone under the Title of Santa Croce di Sassari, Armando Fazzino. Professor Alessandro Ponzeletti, lecturer in Modern Art History, also spoke on the topic of "Churches and devotional works of art in Sassari and in the «Capo di Sopra»".

On Friday, the vocal concert “a cuncordu” was also held by the Choir of the Archconfraternity of the Gonfalone under the Title of the Holy Cross of Sassari, with the explanation and performance of seven pieces in Latin and Sardinian-Logudorese in use for centuries during the Holy Week Rites in Sassari.
