The composer most loved by jazz musicians, but also by those who practiced progressive rock and even other musical genres. The trio formed by pianist Martino Mureddu, assisted by double bass player Antonio Papa and percussionist Federico Pintus , is attempting a jazz reinterpretation of some pieces from Johann Sebastian Bach's immense production.

The project entitled "Crossover Bach Jazz Piano Trio" will be proposed on Monday at 8.30 pm in the Sassu room of the "Luigi Canepa" Conservatory of Sassari .

The concert begins with the first Prelude in C major taken from the first book of the Well-Tempered Clavier on which more than a century later the French composer Gounod would write the melody of his famous Ave Maria . The repertoire continues with the performance of the Minuet in G , the Invention for two voices in C, the Gavotte in B minor , to conclude its first part, after the Arioso of the Concerto in F for harpsichord , in the famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor for organ. The second part of the concert includes another great masterpiece of the German genius: the challenging fifth Brandenburg Concerto , written by Bach for violin, flute, string orchestra and harpsichord, and will conclude with the Chorale in G major taken from the Cantata BWV 147 for soloists, mixed choir and orchestra.

The event is included in the program of the “Spring Concerts” event organized by the Ellipsis musical association.
