Embraced and in love before the crystal-clear waters of Sardinia's southern coast. And not in their usual swimsuits and tanned skin, but well-covered under layers of cotton, jeans, closed shoes, and windbreakers. Here they are, Cristina Parodi and Giorgio Gori, now exceptional ambassadors for the deseasonalization of tourism on the island. "Sardinia out of season is beautiful," writes the journalist from Alessandria accompanying the photo alongside her husband, an MEP and former mayor of Bergamo. "Not just Cagliari, where my daughter lives, but also the entire area of Mediterranean scrub, mountains, and beaches that surrounds it. Two days walking by the sea, in jackets and sweaters because it wasn't too hot, eating delicious local produce, searching for shells. Imagining a future away from the frenetic pace of big cities and more in touch with nature. Many young people today are looking for this, and perhaps they're right." This was what Benedetta Gori, the eldest of the couple's three children, was looking for.

«Benedetta's Choice»

A botanist and researcher, she chose the University of Cagliari to complete her doctorate. Giorgio Gori explained this to Francesca Figus on "Caffè Corretto": "My daughter studied in England for many years." And then, from London's Kew Gardens, a world-class botanical research center and a popular attraction for visitors from around the world, "she decided to come to Cagliari." "She thought about it for weeks, but it was the best choice," Gori recalls. Today, Benedetta, thirty, a lover of nature in all its many facets and a former model, is "happy with the professional dimension she's found, but also with the climate, the friendships, and the ease with which one can get from the capital to the beach and enjoy the outdoors."

«Quality of life»

A dimension that has also captivated him and his wife, who, as soon as they have a chance to unwind, fly to Sardinia: "The quality of life here is very high." Even if it's just a few days' stay, as evidenced by the happy faces they have photographed while strolling along the beaches and rocks, an image that has garnered thousands of views and comments in just a few hours. Laura Pausini stands out, sending "a big kiss to both of you": the singer from Romagna also has a special relationship with the island, starting with her husband and guitarist, Paolo Carta, originally from Bultei. She has confessed as much several times: "I feel a little Sardinian, also because there are two villages here called Pau and Sini," she joked in 2023 as a special guest on the Radiolina program "Unione Cult."
