Cristiano Ronaldo continued to play at 42, scoring his 1,000th goal.
Honored at the Globe Soccer Awards as the Middle East's best player, the Portuguese champion has set his career deadline: "It's difficult to continue playing, but I'm motivated," the former United, Real Madrid, and Juventus forward said in Dubai. "My passion is great, and I want to continue. It doesn't matter where I play, whether in the Middle East or Europe. I've always loved playing football, and I want to continue."
Then, the goal: "You know what my goal is: I want to win trophies and I want to reach that number you all know," CR7 said, referring to the 1,000-goal milestone. A relatively close target: Cristiano Ronaldo now has 972 goals (and has scored 13 in 14 appearances for Al-Nassr).
“I will definitely get there, if there are no injuries,” concluded the Portuguese.
