Telephone call between the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the secretary of the Democratic Party Elly Schlein.

At the center of the conversation, from what we learn, is the situation in the Middle East.

In recent days the dem leader had announced that she would call the prime minister, explaining: «Gaza needs an immediate ceasefire, we have been asking for it for months. I will call Giorgia Meloni because it is necessary for the government to take action. So far we have not seen a diplomatic and political initiative worthy of the Italian tradition and instead Italy needs to do its part." Furthermore, Schlein added, "if the government implements an initiative for peace in the Middle East, we are there."

Meanwhile, the staff of the Democratic Party secretary and the Prime Minister as well as the leader of the Brothers of Italy are working to agree the details on the announced - and confirmed - intention to participate in a "duel" on TV on various topics, foreign policy and not only.

Meanwhile, precisely with regard to the crisis in the Middle East and the Israel-Hamas clash, the motions of the majority, of the Democratic Party for "an immediate humanitarian ceasefire", of Action and of Italia Viva pass in the Chamber.
