"Being close means knowing how to listen." CRAI, a historic modern retail brand with over 50 years of history, is promoting an important initiative to raise public awareness of violence against women, with a series of activities in preparation for November 25, the International Day dedicated to this sensitive and fundamental topic.
As stated in a press release, "The brand with the 'Heart in Italy' logo has decided to take action early to focus customers' attention on an issue that often only receives visibility close to the official anniversary. It's a topic CRAI feels deeply about, as it's intrinsically linked to communities and human relationships with people, who are the beating heart of the company."
Starting November 1st, at participating stores, "receipts will 'speak' of respect and raise awareness of one of the most subtle forms of abuse: financial abuse, which is less well-known and often hidden behind everyday gestures and family silences. This isn't a communications campaign, but rather an awareness campaign, designed to convey important messages with simplicity and respect, transforming an everyday act—like shopping—into a moment of awareness. To give value and depth to the project, CRAI has chosen to collaborate with the Pangea ETS Foundation, which has been committed to protecting women's rights and autonomy for over twenty years."
The receipt contains a QR code that links to a dedicated page (https://crai.it/controlaviolenza) where you can learn more about the topic and download an informational leaflet created in collaboration with Pangea. It highlights how violence has many faces and how recognizing them is the first step in combating it.
"Violence against women, mothers, sisters, and daughters is an open wound that runs through our society. It affects everyone and requires constant attention," emphasizes Federica Palermini, Marketing Director of CRAI. "Companies like CRAI, which enter the homes of Italians every day and are a point of reference for their communities, have a moral duty to promote fundamental values and translate their support into concrete actions. As a woman and a professional," adds Federica Palermini, "I am convinced that, together with the invaluable experience of the Pangea Foundation, we can contribute to greater awareness, offering useful tools to recognize and address situations that too often remain invisible."
CRAI is a leading player in modern retail. The CRAI brand stands out for its widespread presence throughout Italy, making it a leading player in the local market as well: today, CRAI is present in over 1,150 municipalities throughout Italy with a network of approximately 1,800 stores, including supermarkets, convenience stores, and grocery stores.
Since 2002 , the Pangea Onlus Foundation, a nonprofit organization, has been committed to supporting the rights, dignity, and autonomy of women in Italy and around the world. Through microcredit, professional training, and programs to overcome violence, Pangea promotes real and lasting change in the lives of women and their families.
