Great expectations for the new edition – number 55 – of Vinitaly, the historic event dedicated to enology which will be hosted, as per tradition, in Verona from 2 to 5 April.
At Veronafiere there will be 4,000 companies from all over Italy and from more than 30 countries around the world who will exhibit their bottles, including novelties and great classics. Among these, 112 Sardinian wineries, 72 hosted in the official stand of the Region, another 40 present on an individual level.
«It will be a Vinitaly of service and increasingly functional to the needs of companies», explained the president of Veronafiere SpA, Federico Bricolo , presenting the event.
«Vinitaly – he added – is an event recognized as a brand capable of driving the promotion of Italian wine at an international level, a lever for the competitiveness and growth of this strategic sector of Made in Italy ».
During the event, in addition to the meeting between wineries and buyers, there are also numerous collateral events, from tastings to seminars, passing through cultural and convivial appointments.
The Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty Francesco Lollobrigida also announced the “Divine Bacchus” event, which will bring two famous paintings to Vinitaly: Caravaggio's “Bacchus” and Guido Reni's “Child Bacchus”.
«Two masterpieces of incalculable value – underlined Lollobrigida – brought to Veronafiere and to the general public at no cost, thanks to the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture, the Uffizi, Generali, to make it even more evident that wine is not just a alcoholic risk but rather, as well as a well-being drink if consumed in moderation as taught by the Mediterranean diet, an expression of a secular culture that has also permeated the Fine Arts".
