The work decree was approved by the Council of Ministers during the meeting symbolically convened today, May 1st.

Among the objectives: to increase the cut on the tax wedge to thus increase net salaries. "Around 3 billion euros are allocated, in the period between 1 July and 31 December 2023 (without further effects on the thirteenth salary), to increase the 4 percentage point cut in the tax wedge for employees compared to what was already foreseen in budget law", reads a note from the MEF.

The increase in the payroll of employees is estimated, in the period July-December, up to 100 euros per month on average", concludes the note.

Additional benefits for workers who have children also come into effect. We continue on the path responsible for growth by focusing on social emergencies» is the comment of Giancarlo Giorgetti, Minister of Economy.

We have approved the work package.
