Council, lightning green light to the mini-budget: healthcare takes centre stage
In the 630 million variation, 162 will be allocated to cover the deficit of the Local Health AuthoritiesVideo di Stefano Fioretti
The agreements between the sides were respected with the common goal of being able to spend the resources.
Yesterday, the Chamber managed to approve, after a marathon session, the budget variation of 630 million euros. And already from Tuesday the Council will be engaged in the discussion of the bill on Areas suitable for the installation of renewable energy plants.
Healthcare is the protagonist of the discussion. For the amount of resources allocated (162 million to cover the deficit of the Local Health Authorities) and not only.
An amendment by Stefano Schirru (Alleanza Sardegna) to strengthen the oncology department at Brotzu, later withdrawn, gave the Health Councillor Armando Bartolazzi the opportunity to express his opinion on the state of oncology in Sardinia and on the situation at Businco in Cagliari.
"We need to get it into our heads that Sardinia lacks an oncology reference center," he said, "the Island is the only region in Italy, together with Calabria, that does not have an oncology IRCCS. Let's think about this: having an IRCCS means entering the "Alliance against Cancer" network, and it means that if a drug for cancer immunotherapy against tumors comes out today, this organization will have it the next day."
And in particular about Businco: «It is easy to say that it is the oncological excellence of Sardinia, but Businco does not exist from a functional point of view, it is outside the Alliance against Cancer».
