«This is a crucial step to carry forward our fight against the historical disadvantages due to the insularity of our beloved Sardinia»: this is how Michele Cossa, historic exponent of the Sardinian Reformers, announces his candidacy for the European elections in the constituency of the islands (Sardinia and Sicily ) in the list that was born from the agreement between his party, Forza Italia and Noi Moderati (who on this side of the Tyrrhenian are represented by Sardinia at the 20Venti centre).

Cossa's entry into the field was "blessed" during a press conference in Rome with the leader of the Forzisti, Antonio Tajani, while the regional coordinator Pietro Pittalis also sat at the table: «The principle of insularity, which we have inserted into the Italian Constitution , it's just the beginning", continued Cossa, "our victory in Rome has given us momentum, but it's time to bring our voice to Brussels too. The battle ahead of us is great and concerns not only Sardinia but also other European island regions such as Sicily, which shares the same challenges as us. I am committed to giving my all to this campaign, to continue working for our communities."

Tajani added: «I announced that we would aim to broaden the consensus of the area that refers to our values. Today there is another fundamental stage in this path towards the European elections and towards a team that rallies around our values. The Sardinian friends who sign this agreement", added FI's number one, "represent an identity movement and a battle that we share. We are in perfect harmony. We will do everything we can to ensure that the issue of insularity is brought onto the agenda and can bring results to Sardinia and to all the citizens of the Italian islands."
