The go-ahead for aid for the companies comes on the eve of the trip to Brussels for air continuity.

Twenty-five million euros (five for 2023, ten for 2024 and ten for 2025) of incentives for carriers to expand the network of connections in the three Sardinian airports, thus favoring the opening of new routes between the island and the rest of Europe and, in general, seasonal adjustment.
According to initial estimates, the fund could guarantee the opening of fifteen, perhaps even twenty new routes from the very beginning of the next winter aeronautical season.

As? Each landing and take-off costs the airlines about a thousand euros in airport taxes, which could be halved thanks to the fund. This would stimulate Ryanair, EasyJet, Volotea and the other low cost sisters to plan new connections.

But the amendment approved yesterday has nothing to do with the issue that the president of the Region Christian Solinas and the councilor Antonio Moro will discuss today in Brussels with the European Commissioner for Transport.

On the table scheduled for today in Brussels: «We are going to represent the critical issues of the current continuity system linked to an underestimation of the traffic of residents which has led to an insufficient number of flights, as certified by the over 500 additional flights put on the runway since 17 February to August 30," said Moro. The other critical issue concerns the tariff: "It is inconceivable that we have passed from a single tariff to a free one in the full availability of the pricing policies of the companies that do not hesitate to speculate at particular times of the year such as the summer ".
