Yesterday, Transport Minister Matteo Salvini raised the alarm about regional continuity flights due to the high fuel prices ("The airlines are asking me to increase ticket prices") and Councillor Barbara Manca assured that "work is already underway to protect the Sardinians' right to mobility."
Today, Todde, a member of the government, flew to Rome for a meeting at the ministry, with subsidized flights to and from Sardinia on the agenda. It's currently possible that the next €750 million budget adjustment will include a portion dedicated to ensuring the continuity of these routes. Much will depend on how the summit in the capital goes.
Meanwhile, in Cagliari, the Regional Council has begun debate on the center-right motion on Sardinian healthcare. According to the motion's first signatory, Paolo Truzzu (FdI), "we ask the Regional President to submit to the Council within thirty days a document clarifying how the Regional Council intends to comply with the rulings of the Constitutional Court and the Sardinia Regional Administrative Court, and to submit within thirty days a document outlining an intervention plan aimed at ensuring the organizational stability of the healthcare system, the reorganization of local healthcare, the emergency system, and emergency rooms."
Finally, "to activate a continuous monitoring system with the full involvement of the Regional Council to evaluate and analyze the effects of policies to reduce waiting times for access to regional healthcare services across public, accredited private, and private facilities."
