Consortia for reclamation and support for farmers: the Region allocates over 30 million euros

From the Region over 30 million euros for the «improvement of the functionality of the Reclamation Consortia and support for breeders, individual or grouped together in associations».
On the proposal of the Agriculture Councilor Gian Franco Satta, the Todde council approved three ad hoc resolutions.
«Specifically – we read in a note – it concerns – for the first time ever – the disbursement of 100% of the contributions to the Land Reclamation Consortia in the 2024 financial year . An allocation of 32 million euros, costs borne entirely by the public, with the main aim of financing maintenance interventions on the reclamation plants and covering their operating costs, as well as contributing to the electricity costs incurred by them in the years 2023 and 2024.
Sheep or cattle breeders, individually or in associations - duly registered in the business register of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts and in the regional registry of agricultural businesses - can access aid".
«The minimum threshold – continues the note from the Department of Agriculture – of aid to sheep farmers who intend to purchase male breeding sheep (Arbus black breed and Sardinian sheep) is 20 female animals (Arbus black) and 40 female heads (Sardinian breed). The amount of the contribution is equal to 40% of the eligible expenditure and reaches 50% for young farmers and beneficiaries whose farms are located in mountainous and disadvantaged areas. For young farmers who purchase from Sardinian farms the contribution is raised to 75%. Instead, for aid to cattle breeders who intend to purchase male and female cattle breeders - aged no more than 5 years -, the choice must fall on the Charolaise, Limousine, Piemontese, Chianina, Marchigiana, Pezzata Rossa (meat line), Sarda breeds. , Sardo-Modicana, Sardo-Bruna, Blonde D'Aquitaine, Aberdeen-Angus. The minimum threshold for accessing aid is 5 LU (Adult Livestock Units) calculated on cattle of any category. No threshold will be applied for young farmers who set up as sole company manager, assuming civil and fiscal responsibility for company management for the first time. For young farmers who purchase from Sardinian farms the contribution is up to 75%.
It will be the task of Laore Sardegna, the Regional Agency for the implementation of regional programs in the agricultural field and for rural development, to prepare the tenders and provide aid up to the capacity for each accounting year.
«With the approval of these three important resolutions - explains councilor Gian Franco Satta - we are providing answers to the need for a decisive and determined change of pace in the approach to sector problems . A change - underlined the representative of the Todde Council - which must pass through measures to support categories such as that of breeders, in view of an overall growth of the sector, and - concluded Satta - aimed at the functional improvement of bodies such as the Consortia of Reclamation, subjects who play a decisive role in the context in which we operate".
