Irish mixed martial arts champion Conor McGregor has been suspended for 18 months for missing three drug tests in 2024.

McGregor, 37, accepted the sanction, the Combat Sports Anti-Doping Agency, which manages the testing program for the UFC, said in a statement, and "cooperated" with the investigation.

The fighter—who hasn't competed since 2021—"was recovering from an injury" and at the time "was not preparing for a fight," it is emphasized. For these reasons, the sanction was reduced from 24 to 18 months, retroactive to September 2024, the month of his last missed test (June 13, September 19, and 20, 2024).

The Irishman will therefore be able to return to competition from March 20, and will be available for the evening fight show on June 14, 2026, scheduled for the White House on President Donald Trump's 80th birthday.
