"In 2025, the amount of maintenance and development investments at the Saras Sarroch site significantly exceeded the historical average of the last five years, demonstrating the Group's commitment to maintaining the plants in the best conditions of efficiency and operational reliability, and to increasing productivity and performance, which are essential for medium- to long-term sustainability in an increasingly competitive international context."

This is what is highlighted in a Saras press release. "As part of regular meetings with specialized companies that carry out contracted activities at the Sarroch industrial site, Saras provided an update on the work schedule for the 2026-27 financial years at the headquarters of Confindustria Sardegna Meridionale. The Sarroch site is the largest in the Vitol Group's refinery portfolio. It enjoys a strategic location in the Mediterranean basin, at the center of the main crude oil routes and the consumer markets for refined products."

The statement emphasizes "safe working conditions, full compliance with regulations, and the promotion and dissemination of a culture of safety, both internally and among contractors, are the essential cornerstones by which Saras will always operate, together with all companies involved in the value chain. Saras is Sardinia's leading economic operator and, with its activities, contributes approximately €1.77 billion annually to the island's gross domestic product."

Confindustria Sardegna Meridionale "has confirmed Saras's strategic importance for the economy of Sardinia and the country as a whole. Over the years, this important industrial site has fostered the development of a cluster of plant engineering and metalworking companies and the growth of numerous entrepreneurial ventures that, thanks to their acquired competitiveness, are also successfully competing in international markets."
