Confcommercio North Sardinia, summit in Sassari: "We need a new regional transport plan"
Among the topics dealt with was also that relating to hydrogen and experimentationThe issue of territorial continuity is closely related to the island's internal accessibility, with the strengthening of the main railway network . Confcommercio takes the field to have its say on the need for every Sardinian to enter and leave the island easily but also to reach the internal areas , to avoid the phenomenon of depopulation.
A document was presented to the Insularity Commission of the Sardinia Region and today the regional councilor for Transport Moro took part in a meeting in the provincial headquarters of Confcommercio, in via Pascoli in Sassari, with the president Sebastiano Casu, to address the issues that are at heart to the businesses of commerce and tourism, services and the free professions of Northern Sardinia. In the first place, better accessibility with infrastructural interventions that can guarantee reduced travel times. The goal is to reach Cagliari from Sassari in two hours and Sassari from Olbia in less than one . Why are travel times still those of 20 years ago?
Then the hydrogen question. The arrival of funding for the "experimentation", in the opinion of Confcommercio, would risk canceling all the planning interventions envisaged in recent years. Recent studies would move the horizon of hydrogen not before 2030 because today it would be an economically unsustainable system . Confcommercio wonders if the Region is carefully evaluating the evolution of this phenomenon. The fear is that time is being wasted in restoring dignity in transport to the North-West area of Sardinia. We need a new regional transport plan (the current one dates back to 2008), a project that should be ready on the table of the regional council.
