The night of the shooting stars with the music of the stars that shine in the jazz firmament. Exceptional appointment Thursday at 20 in the garden of the "Sanna" National Museum of Sassari. "Jazz under the stars" is the concert proposed by the Movlin' Sextet: Emanuele Dau (trumpet), Gian Pietro Carta (soprano sax), Edoardo Rosa (alto sax), Sarah Cannoni (tenor sax), Luca Chessa (baritone sax) and Massimo Russino (drums).

Scheduled music by Duke Ellington, Wes Montgomery, Chick Corea and Charles Mingus. All the songs are original arrangements conceived specifically for this formation by the masters Luca Sirigu and Gian Piero Carta , which dress the greatest jazz masterpieces in a new, different and fascinating form.

Composed of teachers who work between the Conservatory of Music, the Liceo Musicale and middle schools with a musical focus, the Movlin' Sextet is a new formation born with the intention of promoting an alternative and new musical project in the island's artistic panorama. In this group, the classic saxophone quartet joins the solo trumpet and drums, creating a sound impact that differs from the more common jazz formations.

The concert is included in the musical review "Il Filo Rosso" organized by the Polifonica Santa Cecilia onlus.
