If sixty-two years have already passed since someone called it the ninth art, there's certainly a reason: and now Cagliari can also boast its own comics museum, with " Mus-Cà ." The inauguration is today at 6:30 pm , at the Multimedia Archive of the Imaginary of the Library Center at Via Falzarego 35. The permanent exhibition offers the very first itinerary dedicated to the immortal Aurelio Galleppini or "Galep" , original illustrator of Tex Willer and his associates.
The Sardinian Cartoon Museum , which extends from comics to graphic arts and animated cinema, is thus opened in the presence of Mayor Zedda and Councillor Chiappe : the project was in fact conceived by the Department of Culture of the capital and developed together with the association Hybris – International Comics Centre , under the direction of the writer and screenwriter Bepi Vigna , with the official logo signed by the Bonelli author Sergio Giardo .
"Mus-Cà" therefore aims to enhance, preserve, and promote the island's artistic production , while also aiming to become a center of socio-cultural inclusion and a laboratory for active citizenship and dialogue. This will be implemented within the spaces of the Library Center, combining intergenerational and multidisciplinary approaches. The vision, however, is for a "widespread museum," with extensions and connections to other locations in the city and in collaboration with regional institutions, with the aim of creating a bridge between historical memory and a creative future.
Alongside the room entirely dedicated to the memory of "Galep" , the Museum's itinerary also offers two exhibitions of illustrations inspired by fairy tales, legends and traditions of Cagliari and Sardinia, with " Cagliari city of angels " and " In the footsteps of Scultone ".
