Agricultural innovation is in the hands of young people, capable of transforming age-old traditions into tools for the future. This is the spirit that is animating the 2024 edition of Coldiretti Sardegna's Oscar Green, entitled "Roots for the Future", currently underway at the Lazzaretto di Sant'Elia in Cagliari. The ceremony opened with the event "Generations that dialogue", an intergenerational discussion between women, young people and Coldiretti pensioners, aimed at reflecting on the generational change in agriculture and the importance of their role.

Among the protagonists of the Oscar Green 2024 are those who have developed a waste recovery system to create agri-food products and those who have introduced the first phosphate-free cheese, designed for those with kidney problems. There was no shortage of recognition for those who adopt ecological fertilization practices and for the young Sardinian shepherds who, through social media, promote the local pastoral tradition.

"Innovation does not only mean technology, but also organizational capacity. We must know how to exploit technology to reduce waste, such as water," said Enrico Parisi, national delegate of Giovani Coldiretti. According to Parisi, it is precisely technological and organizational innovation that creates a model of sustainability and economic viability in the long term.

Among the winners of the Oscar Green 2024 are Oscar Antonio Pilo, the next national finalist, together with Michele Busia, Carlo Pistis, Federica Dessolis, Elena Frau, Davide Deidda and Nicolò Cherchi. The categories awarded were six: Campagna Amica, Custodi D'Italia, Impresa Digitale e Sostenibile, Coltiviamo Insieme, L'Impresa che Cresce, and È ancora Oscar Green, with a special mention for the Agri-Influencers, figures who are bringing agriculture into the digital world, demonstrating that even a traditional sector can be a protagonist of the future.
