President Maria Chiara Carrozza's visit to the offices of the National Research Council of Sardinia opened today in Cagliari, which will continue tomorrow in Oristano and Sassari.
Accompanied by the director general Giuseppe Colpani, Maria Chiara Carrozza met the researchers of the Institute of Atmospheric and Climate Sciences (Isac-Cnr) housed in the Bonaria Laboratory, where the Rector of the University of Cagliari Francesco Mola and the Mayor of the city Paolo Truzzu.
The day continued with a visit to the headquarters of the Institute of the History of Mediterranean Europe (Cnr-Isem) and with the meeting held at the headquarters of the Sardinia Region with the governor Christian Solinas, with whom the president and director discussed the renewal. the framework agreement with Cnr.
“In Sardinia we have more than 10 institutes with many projects active in all scientific sectors, as well as in the multidisciplinary nature of our organization”, declared the president Carrozza. “This is why I attach considerable importance to visiting the Institutes of the region, even more considering some important deadlines including those related to the PNRR and the CNR development and relaunch plan, for which it is important to consider our territorial presence. The meeting with Governor Solinas then opened to interesting perspectives, the start of an interview process aimed at identifying and developing research, training, technology transfer programs of common interest in the context of the social and economic needs of the Region ".
"The Region - said President Solinas - confirms its support for the activities of the CNR, with an ever-growing interest witnessed by the allocation of 500 thousand euros envisaged by the recently approved 'Omnibus Law'".
"On various fields of action - added Solinas - relations need to be intensified, with the involvement of the CNR, alongside CRS4 and Sardegna Ricerche, in the prestigious high-tech projects born in Sardinia: on green energy, the aerospace industry, genetics, the Sos Enattos gravitational wave telescope project in Lula, the argon gas distillation tower built in the disused shaft of the Nuraxi Figus mine, the most important in the world ".
Maria Chiara Carrozza's day in Cagliari ended at the University Citadel of Monserrato with a visit to the Institutes of neuroscience (In-Cnr), materials workshop (Iom-Cnr), environmental geology and geoengineering (Igag-Cnr), pharmacology translational (Ift-Cnr) and genetic and biomedical research (Irgb-Cnr).
