"Is RAI interested in Celentano's return? That's the most important answer you need to give us."

Claudia Mori addressed this in a letter published on Adriano Celentano's Instagram profile to RAI CEO Giampaolo Rossi. The letter was symbolically titled "Time Passes By," like the 1980 hit.

Dear Dr. Rossi, how are you? I'm writing to you because at this point I feel compelled to solicit your response regarding whether or not Adriano Celentano is interested in returning to RAI. Months ago, you and I met in Milan at the Clan (Gianmarco Mazzi was also present), where I presented Adriano's work. You showed great interest, and we agreed to meet again in a few days, also with Adriano, who would organize a screening of his work for you. To date, many months have passed, and still no sign of any kind from you. You see, Dr. Rossi, a response is imperative, whatever it may be.

Rossi responded immediately: " There is the 'maximum will' on the part of RAI to welcome the return of Adriano Celentano," he explained in a note, underlining that at stake is "the idea of creating a great tribute together with him, a special evening on Rai 1," based not only on the archive repertoire, "as proposed by Mrs. Mori," but also the possibility of hosting him "with open arms at the next Sanremo Festival."
"Adriano Celentano," emphasizes the RAI CEO, " is a piece of Italian popular culture history; he is a story of our nation, even to the world. This is why we are embracing Mrs. Claudia Mori's request, with the idea of creating a major tribute with him, a special evening on Rai 1. We aren't content with just archive footage, as Mrs. Mori has suggested, but we want a comeback worthy of his legend, a moment of celebration for the entire Italian public. And if Adriano wants, we will welcome him with open arms to the next Sanremo Festival as well ."
