Clash on end-of-life, the Democratic Party: «Necessary law». The minority: «It's useless»

Is it appropriate for a Regional Assembly to work on a law knowing that it will be challenged by the Government? Regardless of the merits, in Sardinia the political debate on End of Life revolves around this question.
The law in question is proposed law number 59 (Times and procedures for medically assisted suicide, a right recognized in 2019 by ruling 242 of the Constitutional Court) with the first signature of Dem Roberto Deriu.
Who specifies: « The proposal is not mine, I have interpreted the possibility that the text developed by the Coscioni association could be examined by the Regional Council. The final proposal of the sixth commission is not identical, it was modified under the guidance of the president Carla Fundoni on the basis of the reflections in the parliament and the hearings ».
There is no state law, says Deriu, but there will be one very soon, objects the group leader of Fratelli d'Italia Paolo Truzzu. He argues: «The regional proposal is a pretext, a flag law, considering that the discussion of the national bill is already scheduled for July 17 in the Senate».
