In Sardinia , according to Istat data, there are about 130 thousand people in conditions of severe material deprivation , or with limited resources to the point of not being able to pay the bills, heat the house, not being able to afford a protein meal at least once every two days or go on vacation. In short, on the verge of the poverty line.
This is what emerges from the analysis of the data processed by the CISL Sardinia which highlights 44,476 applications for "Naspi" submitted on last September 7. The families who applied for citizenship income from January to August are 56,027 , for an average monthly amount of 537.62 euros , while 5,300 households are involved in citizenship pension applications for an average monthly allowance of 300.43 euros.
In addition to these data, the analysis of the CISL highlights the applications for layoffs in derogation with 69,578 applications and 34,225 requests for ordinary layoffs . Even pensions, for the most part, have amounts below the relative poverty index.
Old-age pensions , excluding the management of public employees, on the Island are 187,699 with average monthly amounts of just over 1,135 euros, those of disability 37,642 with an average amount of just 660 euros. Survivors' pensions, from 612 euros, are 91,232. Those with social security allowances (from 462 euros per month) are 31,208, disability pensions 126,362, for about 430 euros per month. The total of pensions is therefore 474,143 with an average of 762 euros.
"In a phase like the present - says the regional secretary, Gavino Carta - characterized by a high rate of inflation, the very high costs of energy bills, the constant increase in basic necessities, the different types of pensions do not allow the most of the families to meet all the commitments and, first of all, the basic necessities ".
The secretary of the CISL argues that "precisely because of the drama of the social and work situation on the island, the regional council must immediately start a discussion with the trade union to review the" Poverty Plan ", approved by the Executive in May this year. , but completely insufficient to face the emergency in progress ".
The amount of the Plan, approximately 61 million euros, "is absolutely to be increased - concludes Carta -, also considering that, pending the distribution for 2022, the National Fund for the fight against poverty has assigned to Sardinia 26 million euros for 2021 ".
