Cinema, "IsReal" kicks off in Nuoro: six days of meetings and screenings
At the center of the reflection is the relationship between people and the environment
IsReal, the film festival of reality, kicks off today in Nuoro with the inauguration ceremony. Six days of meetings, screenings, debates and insights until Sunday 11 June, when the winners of the two sections will be revealed by the jury: the "international competition" and the "Sardinian scenarios".
«With this edition we want to involve and make the territories and communities protagonists» says the president of ISRE Stefano Lavra, «the directors have chosen themes with a strong environmental and social value, for this reason the mayors, administrators and the communities were invited to participate in the six-day Festival. The demo-socio-anthropological element will be well represented, of significant importance in cultural research processes, to create an opportunity for sharing and active participation. The relevance of the topics dealt with in this edition places the relationship between people and the environment at the center of the reflection, a very topical theme of primary importance in the awareness of balances and relationships».
The films
The first film in the international competition is A los libros ya las mujeres canto by Maria Elorza (Spain, 2022, 72'). Debut work by the Spanish director with Sardinian blood (mother of Samugheo) between essay film and collective portrait, it is a passionate and free homage to women and to the revolutionary gesture of reading, which enters the intimate space of home libraries. "It is a film that we are delighted to be able to present in Nuoro as a national premiere" said the artistic director of IsReal Alessandro Stellino, "because it best represents one of the main themes of this year's edition".
