Toys, care and beauty products and household appliances.

These will be the three most popular gifts for Christmas 2021, according to the National Consumers Union, which has estimated the top ten of the products that will be most purchased in view of the holidays, not based on surveys, but by processing Istat data on sales at detail. In particular, the analysis takes into consideration the goods that have seen a higher surge in sales than in previous months (not in absolute terms but in percentages).

At the top of the ranking are the classic gifts for children, toys. In second position we find perfumes, aftershaves, cosmetics and make-up products.

Third are appliances, including televisions, coffee makers, razors and vacuum cleaners.

Housewares (and in particular cooking utensils) and stationery (books, diaries and calendars) follow in order.

In sixth place mobile phones and IT products precede footwear and leather goods and the clothing category.

In ninth position there is a heterogeneous product category called “other products”, which includes jewels, watches, frames, gold or silver objects, flowers and plants. The list is completed by photo-optics products and musical instruments (cameras, binoculars and telescopes).

The whole world of food remains out of the top ten - unexpectedly.

"Ours is a ranking of the gifts that are normally given, based on the percentage increases in their sales, not a ranking of the most appreciated. We do not know, therefore, whether to receive the classic perfume or aftershave, rather than a book, in fifth place , is then actually appreciated by those who receive it. What is certain is that they are given a lot, in some cases also because they are gifts that are easy to make and with affordable prices for all budgets. it is right that it is, they remain the protagonists of Christmas ", commented Monica Satolli, regional coordinator for Sardinia of the National Consumers Union.
