Inter, Juventus, and Atalanta reached the Champions League play-offs as top seeds, while Napoli was eliminated. This was the outcome for the Italian teams on the final day of the league season, which was played simultaneously.

The best of the four Serie A teams is Inter, who won 2-0 at Borussia Dortmund in the final minutes. A fine free kick from Dimarco in the 81st minute and a second from Diouf in the 94th minute secured the win, securing them a tenth-place finish. Juventus drew 0-0 at Monaco and are now thirteenth, while Atalanta lost 1-0 to Union SG and are fifteenth.

Napoli had hoped to qualify for the top 24, but lost 2-3 to Chelsea. The English side took the lead with a 19th-minute penalty from Enzo Fernández, before Vergara and Højlund turned the tables between the 33rd and 43rd minutes to give them a illusory halftime lead. But in the second half, Chelsea turned the score around with a brace from João Pedro (61st and 82nd minutes) and qualified for the top eight. These are (in order of standings) Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Tottenham, Barcelona, Chelsea, Sporting CP, and Manchester City.

The Champions League play-off draw will be held on Friday at midday, with the draw for the round of 16 scheduled for February 27.
