In a challenging economic climate for Sardinian families, the Group announces that "throughout 2025, F.lli Cellino brand Classica pasta will be available at a more affordable price in participating supermarkets in Sardinia. This is a clear commitment, designed to support families' purchasing power at a time when the balance between quality and affordability is a fundamental value," according to a press release.
"Same quality. Same taste. A new commitment": this is the message accompanying the new initiative promoted by the Cellino Group, a historic Sardinian company with over 70 years of experience in grain and food production on the island. This choice is in line with the values that have always inspired the Group's work: promoting the supply chain, enhancing local raw materials, and restoring wealth to the region.
This news comes on top of another important milestone: "The 2025 Sardinian durum wheat harvest," the press release states, "concluded with extraordinary results, recording a 290% increase in quintals compared to the first harvest . This is the best result ever achieved since the launch of the Ercole Punto Zero 100% Sardinian and UNI ISO 22005 certified supply chain project, promoted by the Cellino Group."
"This exceptional grain campaign is the result of collaborative efforts with over 300 Sardinian farmers," says Alberto Cellino, president of the Group, "and represents a strong signal of confidence in our land. More local durum wheat means more hectares under cultivation, higher quality, and a positive impact on the regional economy."
Thanks to steady growth, Sardinian durum wheat production now covers 28% of the needs of Molino Simec di F.lli Cellino, a rapidly growing percentage considering that, at the first harvest, it covered just 7%. This result consolidates a sustainable agri-food supply chain, closely integrated into the local area.
From field to fork, a choice that benefits everyone – The wheat harvested in the 2025 campaign is the result of a strategy that focuses on agronomic research, collaboration with scientific bodies such as Agris Sardegna and Società Produttori Sementi, and a concrete commitment to farmers: from the guaranteed minimum price to objective-based rewards.
The decision to offer F.lli Cellino pasta at a controlled price is the natural continuation of this vision. "We want to continue supporting Sardinian families, and we do so by carefully optimizing our production chain, without ever compromising the quality that has always distinguished us," says Cellino. "In such a challenging time for many, we feel it is our duty to do our part."
Cellino Group – The Cellino Group's history began in 1955 in Marmilla, Italy's ancient granary; more precisely, in Sanluri, the land of wheat and bread. For three generations, the Cellino family has carried on Sardinia's grain-growing and milling traditions and today controls the entire production chain: from grain to table. In addition to the Simec mill, the Group operates the F.lli Cellino pasta factory, the Fette di Sole biscuit factory, and the Stipar animal feed mill. In 2014, it completed its supply chain with the acquisition of Sardegna Più, a distribution center that now controls the COOP (CCNO) brand. The Group's primary mission is to safeguard Sardinian durum wheat production, which is why it created the first 100% Sardinian-certified supply chain: the Ercole Punto Zero supply chain. This pact was born from a handshake between the Simec mill of F.lli Cellino and approximately 300 Sardinian farmers. In this ancient land, the family acquired ancient knowledge of the world of cereals, creating the Alma® Method, from the Latin "anima" (soul), because thanks to the double diamond stone hulling process, it reaches the very core of the wheat grain, its purest part. And it is precisely by putting all their heart and soul into it that today the Group exports flour, pasta, and rusks to 54 countries worldwide.
