In reality, the feast of the saint, according to the calendar, is officially June 13, but Dorian fishermen have been celebrating it for decades in August , at the height of the summer tourist season. In fact, there were many tourists who, together with the residents, did not want to miss the suggestive anniversary.
At 6.30 pm at the port Don Pietro Denicu officiated the Holy Mass . Then all at sea, aboard dozens of boats, in the crystalline waters of the Gulf of Asinara . After a few miles, guided by the boat carrying the statue of Sant'Antoneddu (taken from the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie), the classic throwing of the crown into the sea , carried out by Don Denicu. Then the return to the port, accompanied by the cheering sirens of the boats. The mayor Antonio Capula, the council and local authorities were present at the celebration.
