Monumenti Aperti in presence returns to Castelsardo, after the 2020 edition which took place entirely online. For this year the chosen theme is "School of freedom". The dates that interest the enchanting medieval village of the Dorias are those of Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th December. From 10 to 17 you can visit six monuments of the town for free, some of which are usually closed to the public or with paid admission. The three-year students of the scientific and linguistic high school Mario Pagletti of Lu Bagnu act as guides, trained by their teachers and by the operators of the cooperatives that manage the city museums: Ammentos, Carma, Memoria Storica and Semata. The contribution of the diocese of Tempio-Ampurias, of the parish of Sant'Antonio Abate and of the brotherhood of the oratory of Santa Croce is also fundamental.
"In Castelsardo, culture has always played a prominent role. Visitors who honor us with their presence appreciate our ancient town not only for its naturalistic and landscape beauties, but also for the history and traditions that are breathed in our center", he stresses the mayor Antonio Capula.
The monuments that can be visited will be very suggestive, such as the bell tower built by the Doria family, the co-cathedral of Sant'Antonio Abate, the church of Purgatory and the collection of bishops' bubbles, the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, the museum of Mediterranean weaving, the museum of Genoese origins and the Franciscan convent.
"As a community we are therefore very ready to welcome tourists and visitors - exclaims the Councilor for Culture Valeria Sini - We will offer them our organization and the usual hospitality".
