New blow for Sardinian motorists, who in just one year have seen their RCA insurance premium increase by 34.4%.
This was reported in the latest report released by the Facile.it Observatory, underlining how the third highest annual increase in Italy was recorded on the island, with Sardinia ranking behind only Umbria (+37.9% ) and Lazio (+36%).
In detail, the average premium that a Sardinian car owner has to pay to insure his car is 539.35 euros, 135 euros more than 12 months ago.
«The double-digit increases – explains the Observatory – affected all the Sardinian provinces; leading the price increases ranking is Sassari, which saw an increase of 36.5% (average premium equal to 530.87 euros), followed, equally, by Nuoro (+36%, 537.59 euros) and South Sardinia (+36%, 531.30 euros).
In Cagliari the increase was 32.9% (average premium 561.69 euros), while last in the ranking was Oristano, which in 12 months recorded an increase of 25.6%, reaching 450 euros.
In absolute values, in September 2023, Cagliari was the most expensive province in the region, Oristano the cheapest.
Furthermore, it is worth highlighting the fact that, if in Sardinia the annual increase was close to 35%, the national average stands at just under 28%, therefore the premium paid by Sardinians is approximately 7% more expensive than the one paid by other Italian car owners.
