The official data arrived only in the middle of the night but do not deviate from yesterday's anticipations: it will be a ballot between Beniamino Piga (civic list) and Beniamino Garau (Psd'Az, Lega, Sardegna 2020) to determine who will be the new mayor of Capoterra.

Piga has the advantage: in the first round he obtained 40.64 percent of the votes. Garau must chase (he stopped at 28.87 per cent) but will be able to count on the support of Gianlugi Marras, candidate for mayor of Forza Italia, Riformatori and Fratelli d'Italia (17.75 per cent).

The tip of the balance at this point could be the Democratic Party of Efisio Demuru (candidate for mayor reached 11.55 percent (while the socialist Attilio Congiu got only 2.39 percent of the votes).

The personal success of the former mayor Francesco Dessì, in support of Piga, is remarkable: he obtained 561 preferences and his civic list was the most voted.

The first discussions are underway between candidates for mayors and party secretariats. Voting takes place on Sunday 24 October and Monday 25 October.
