Everything is ready on the Croisette for the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival , from today until May 27, with twenty-one films competing for the Palme d'Or , including three Italians : "Il sol dell'avvenire" by Nanni Moretti, "Kidnapped" by Marco Bellocchio and "La chimera" by Alice Rohrwacher.

A particularly rich edition is scheduled, with highly anticipated films such as "Killers of the Flower Moon" by Martin Scorsese, which will bring the director to the montée des marches together with Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert DeNiro, and many American stars, such as Michael Douglas who will receive the Palm of Honour, and Harrison Ford who will present the latest chapter in the Indiana Jones saga, "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny".

The first to parade on the Croisette will be Johnny Depp, with the opening film "Jeanne du Barry - The King's Favorite" , directed and starring Ma wenn, with the American actor in the role of Louis XV.

The most crowded red carpet of stars will be that of Wes Anderson, who will bring "Asteroid City" in competition, with Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton. It will be a challenge between two queens of cinema "May December" by Todd Haynes in competition with Julianne Moore and Natalie Portman.

Ken Loach with "The Old Oak", Aki Kaurismaki with "Fallen leaves" and Wim Wenders with "Perfect days" are also back in the competition for the Golden Palm.

This year's winners will be decided by the jury led by Ruben Stlund , the director who won the Palme d'Or last year with "Triangle of Sadness".
