During the summer, many people experience a decrease in blood pressure, or hypotension, which can lead to symptoms such as tiredness, dizziness and weakness. Leaving aside the iatrogenic cases in which it is necessary to review the therapy, for all others maintaining a balanced diet is essential to control blood pressure and prevent heart problems.
Fortunately, summer is a very generous season where it is possible to take advantage of the vast availability of fresh fruit and vegetables, ideal for maintaining a diet that promotes heart health. These foods are in fact fundamental thanks to their content of two cornerstone elements of blood volume: precious electrolytes and the inevitable biological water.
Preferring light and frequent meals rather than large and heavy ones helps to reduce the digestive effort of our body and keep energy levels stable. Drinking an adequate and constant quantity of mineral water and avoiding alcoholic or sugary drinks which tend to dehydrate completes and closes the circle.
