After weeks of discussions, the leaders of the Democratic Party, the Five Star Movement, and the Alliance of the Greens and the Left have established an initial roadmap, with three main steps: developing a common programmatic platform by November, a national mobilization in December, and choosing the coalition leader through primaries, to be held by February.

The Campo largo agreement came at the end of a videoconference meeting that lasted approximately three hours, attended by Democratic Party secretary Elly Schlein, M5S president Giuseppe Conte, and AVS representatives Angelo Bonelli and Nicola Fratoianni: "Next week, discussions will begin to define the coalition's program by November. The opposition forces represented in Parliament, who share the urgency of building a government alternative to the right, will participate in the discussions. Finally, we agreed that the primaries will be held by February, with the goal of making them an important opportunity for democratic participation, so as to ensure a leadership fully supported by every progressive force."

Another event is scheduled for December, during the budget debate, when the center-left intends to hold a national demonstration against the Meloni government, open to social organizations and civil society.

The most delicate issue, however, remains the leadership one, with Schlein and Conte having agreed to hold primaries by February. Organizational issues and the rules of the competition remain to be addressed.
