The regional law of Campania that will allow Vincenzo De Luca to have a third term has been approved by the regional council. They voted 33 in favor, 16 against and one abstention.
This completes the "rift" between the governor of Campania and the leadership of the Democratic Party, which is against the measure that allows De Luca to run again for the leadership of the Region.
"The Democratic Party - Democratic Party secretary Elly Schlein had warned in recent days - has a very clear position: we are against the third mandate. For us, the national law that provides for the limit of 2 mandates applies. They can vote for all the regional laws they want but the Democratic Party will not support outgoing presidents for a third mandate".
