Discuss the introduction of further measures to safeguard the beaches and coasts of the Gulf of Orosei and protect the historic companies on the quays. These are some of the points at the center of the meeting which took place in Cagliari between the regional transport councilor, Antonio Moro, and the sea passenger transport operators of the port of Cala Gonone.

«The safety and services and times linked to the environmental protection of the entire area – explained the operators of the consortium which brings together the 11 companies in the sector operating in Cala Gonone and has 15 motor vessels and around 150 employees – represent a commitment for the entrepreneurs, who for some time, thanks to self-regulation of moorings and transport services in general, they have contributed to a more efficient management of human pressure on the most valuable beaches, starting with Cala Luna, and have encouraged actions aimed at raising awareness and promoting the sites environmental conditions of the Gulf".

The concerns of the operators - the representatives of the consortium underlined - are aimed «not at the introduction of a possible limited number also at Cala Luna, but at the problems of safety on the quay and the management of passenger transport services that could derive from the increase of new berths in the port of Gonone".

«I express satisfaction with the position expressed by the representatives of the passenger transport companies operating in the port of Cala Gonone and I believe it is appropriate to avoid the contradiction which sees on the one hand the introduction of further limitations on access to the beaches and coves of the Gulf of Orosei and on the other, the increase in moorings of motor ships intended for passenger transport", concluded councilor Moro.
