Cagliari's new stadium, no tender available: Euro '32 is moving further away.
Councilor Macciotta: ready to publish it within a dayPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
The tender has been ready for two months now. But it remains on the shelf, awaiting approval that is slow in arriving. "As soon as we receive a positive report from the company responsible for verifying the project , as required by law, we will be able to proceed immediately with the formal call for tenders," assures Sports Councilor Giuseppe Macciotta .
The problem is that the project for Cagliari's new stadium has been under review for three months, and no one, for now, can say when the process will be concluded. This delay is prolonging the bidding process and risks costing the city its bid for the 2032 European Championships. Naples, with €149 million allocated by the government, now appears to be the favorite to secure fifth place among Italian cities (along with Milan, Turin, Rome, and Florence) to host the tournament. There's no official decision yet, but Cagliari's chances appear to be dwindling.
