An excursion into the heart of the capital, discovering women's history: on Sunday the 8th , you can take part in the special tour for Women's Day by " Nocturne Kalaris ." With expert guidance from Claudia Caredda and readings by actress Marta Gessa, the tour will lead visitors through the alleys of Cagliari Castle , recalling the lives of women from every social class throughout the ages. The meeting point is at 6:45 PM , departing from Piazza Cannas , at the foot of Porta Cristina .
The visit will begin with the bizarre passage of a city edict of 1347 , in which the women of Cagliari were forbidden from climbing the bell tower of the Cathedral: from here, the history of the condition of women in the capital will be retraced, looking not only at the most famous rulers and noblewomen, but also at all those marginalized figures apparently forgotten by the annals , such as "serbidoras", prostitutes and orphans.
But what will emerge from the stories will not be pietistic paintings, but rather important anecdotes and portraits of courageous women who, thanks to their tenacity and intelligence, freed themselves from their condition and were part of the shift in gender relations in the capital. By alternating Caredda's historical exhibition with Gessa's recited readings , these lives and their stories will be given their rightful voice, in a new initiative organized by Trip Sardinia .
