What to do in Cagliari during the holidays?

Between art, culture and entertainment , the city doesn't go on vacation and offers Cagliari citizens various ideas for spending the Christmas holidays .

On Monday 26 December the Palazzo di Città of Cagliari will be open to the public, on an extraordinary basis, from 10 to 18. On the three floors of the museum it will be possible to admire the exhibition by Hugo Pratt "Corto Maltese Verso Nuove Rotte" . Over 200 original works by the artist await visitors: watercolors, drawings, very rare plates and an original multi-vision that retrace the journeys of the famous adventurer character born from the genius of the Italian cartoonist in 1967 and created for the magazine Sgt Kirk . For the occasion, within the promotional events of the current exhibition, the Civic Museums are proposing the initiative "A morning at the Museum" . At 10.30, an art historian will offer a guided tour of the works on display, followed by a wine tasting around 12.00.

Tuesday, December 27 , however, an appointment with the history and past of the city. In the council chamber of the Palazzo Civico in Via Roma , the mayor Paolo Truzzu will confer the honor "Medal of Honor Ottone Bacaredda" .   The day ends with the project “Ottone Bacaredda and the dream of the new city. Cagliari between the 19th and 20th centuries”: about forty events to commemorate the historical figure of the mayor of the Sardinian capital . The award was established in 2004 and has been destined , since then, to a Cagliari woman or man who has shown particular commitment in the social life of the city.
