The sun beats down on Viale Diaz, but no one moves. There must already be about a hundred people in line when the gates open at the Fair. "I couldn't come on Saturday, I couldn't miss Sunday. I want a unique piece," says Federica, 27. Simple or charming, useful or not, the important thing is that it's vintage, therefore used: from leather bags to shorts, from hats from the 1950s and 1960s to flowing and colorful dresses, but also fancy earrings and necklaces to classic antiques.

The spring edition of the vintage market is an extraordinary success: over six thousand people give up their tan in order to take home a vinyl record, an old toy, a gramophone.

At the grand “bazaar” in the pavilions of the Fair there is something for everyone : Converse Chuck Taylors, vintage Vans; early 90s Gap pocket-Ts with the old logo on the label, made in the USA, T-shirts that appeared in magazines in memorable campaigns, then “pieces” of Y2K fashion: flashy prints, low-waisted trousers, eccentric glasses. Mixed styles, in short. Especially vintage.

This year there are over one hundred, one hundred and twenty exhibitors. The “second chance” one, which sells all the pieces for 3.50 euros, is the most popular. The line forms all day long.

At the kermesse, new to this edition, in addition to well-stocked stands, there are also many activities. One of these is the burlesque lesson, an ancient art of stripping to the rhythm of music that drives young and old crazy.
