On three occasions, on September 22 and October 3 and 4, 2025, thousands of protesters took to the streets of the city legally and without creating any problems for public order and safety. Alongside this overwhelming majority, there were also those who, according to police accusations, used the squares and solidarity initiatives of the Global Sumud Flotilla—which aimed to break the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip—to organize unscheduled marches, disrupt public services, block traffic, and provoke clashes with law enforcement.

And the same situation occurred again on November 1st, again last year, with the demonstration opposing the authorized demonstration by the Blocco Studentesco movement. A few months later, the Cagliari DIGOS officers completed both investigations, coordinated by Deputy Prosecutor Emanuele Secci, and the Public Prosecutor's Office issued notices of conclusion of the preliminary investigations: 79 people are under indictment (12 are under investigation for both lines of inquiry).

And for the first time in Sardinia, the 2025 security decree, which makes blocking roads a criminal offense, has been implemented: 72 people are under investigation for this charge and, having acted as a group, risk sentences of six months to two years.
