Cagliari, tomorrow in the council chamber the “Rosalia Uras - Medica” award

Tomorrow at 5:00 p.m., in the council chamber of the Municipality of Cagliari, in via Roma, the third edition of the “Rosalia Uras Award” will be presented, reserved for degree theses on the defense of life, rights of people and communities discussed at the University of Cagliari. The Award is promoted by the cultural and human promotion association “Rosalia Uras Medica”, in collaboration with the municipal administrations of Cagliari and San Sperate and with the support of the Fondazione di Sardegna.
By decision of the Scientific Committee chaired by Raimondo Ibba, the prize will be awarded to Francesca Pardocchi, who graduated in Nursing Sciences with a thesis on “The role of the nurse in the management of pharmacological therapy”, supervisor Maria Scherma.
Representatives of the Municipalities of Cagliari and San Sperate and of the Fondazione di Sardegna will be present at tomorrow's ceremony. And there will be the family of Rosalia Uras, " a woman and a surgeon of great humanity, who by choice of life and profession has generously dedicated herself to others ", as can be read in a note signed by Paolo Zucca , president of the association "Rosalia Uras - Medica" and Luciano Uras , representing Rosalia's family. " We want to give a small sign of consideration and encouragement" , they add, "to young recent graduates of the University of Cagliari" .
On this occasion, Paolo Pillonca, journalist, writer and poet, rigorous defender of Sardinian culture, will be remembered.
The “Rosalia Uras - Medica” Award is promoted in partnership with the “ll Seme” Social Cooperative and the “Villaggio Pescatori di Giorgino” Neighborhood Committee. This edition will end in San Sperate next March, with the awarding of a similar prize to a young graduate in Medicine and Surgery.
