The farewell to captain Joao Pedro after eight seasons has been formalized, Cagliari throws themselves in search of a replacement. The first name, after the departure of the last few weeks, is again that of the Peruvian from Benevento Gianluca Lapadula. But in the notebook of the sports director Stefano Capozucca remains the Romanian George Puscas and, surprisingly, the eternal Ciccio Caputo, coming out of Sampdoria, appears. Liverani's request "We need a reinforcement in front": Liverani, after Joao Pedro's exit, was clear. Because there is another finalizer up front, in addition to Pavoletti, with Contini being pushed more and more towards Olbia. And the technician once again mentioned Lapadula's name. Cagliari, as happened with Viola, is trying to please Liverani. But if for the midfielder the road was smoothed, with the player free and ready to sign the Rossoblu offer, for the center forward there is first to find the square with Benevento, owner of the card, and then with the Peruvian. The obstacle is above all the hiring of Lapadula, who, as in the first contacts, continues to ask for confirmation of the contract of 1.8 million per season received by president Vigorito. A figure considered excessive by Cagliari, which does not want to exceed certain parameters, especially with a 32-year-old player. The alternatives If Lapadula is Liverani's first choice, Cagliari, however, keeps other tracks open. Meanwhile, the Romanian Puscas, who already has an agreement with the rossoblù club (four-year contract), but for which Reading, the English Premiership club owner of the card, asks for 4 million, a figure considered excessive by Cagliari. Negotiations have been entered into with Sampdoria to dress the evergreen Caputo, 34, with 11 goals in the last season, in rossoblù. To put in a good word also the club manager Roberto Muzzi, who has known Caputo since the days of Empoli (he was Andreazzoli's deputy). The player (who would be allowed to leave without problems from the Sampdoria club) would also be interested in moving to Sardinia, but is held back by having to restart from Serie B.
