Freedom as a right, but also as a responsibility and the very basis of artistic creation and its dissemination: this is the underlying theme of the seventh edition of " Dialoghi di Carta ," the literary festival promoted by La Fabbrica Illuminata , returning to Cagliari 's Giardini Pubblici for three consecutive days. From Friday the 18th to Sunday the 20th, the program intertwines poetry, nonfiction, reportage, and music in numerous encounters with equally renowned guests.
Under the artistic direction of Elena Pau and the support of the Municipality and the Region , this new edition of the "Promozione della Lettura" festival takes its title from Dante's " Liberty he seeks, which is so dear ," placing at its center the value of freedom - of thought, expression, and decision-making regarding issues that are the sole responsibility of the individual, such as the right to a dignified death - made inalienable also by the commitment of those who defend it in culture , especially in this historical moment, as the curators Rossana Copez and Giovanni Follesa emphasize.
We start on Friday at 6 pm , with Mauro Liggi presenting the poetry of " The Cipher of Solitude " (Interno Poesia, 2026), suspended between the island landscape and the introspective dimension, and the photographic story-reportage " Sant'Elia. The neighborhood, its people " (Abbà, 2026), a vibrant homage to the controversial and at the same time emblematic city district, in dialogue with Cristiano Sanna Martini and Copez and in the readings of Anna-Lou Toudjian . This is followed by the debate between Copez and Alfredo Gatto on the volume " Reality is overrated. Philosophy and the multiverse " (Castelvecchi, 2025), between ancient and contemporary philosophy, quantum mechanics and pop culture, and Mauro Biglino with the new " The unexpected god " (Tuthi, 2026), co-written with Gian Matteo Corrias , and " The dragons of Eden " (Tuthi, 2026), written with Paul Wallis and in national preview, both focusing on the possible links between biblical texts and Nuragic Sardinia: this time it is Follesa who dialogues with the author.
We resume on Saturday the 19th at the same time , debuting with Vincenzo Mascolo and his " Il minimo comune viaggiatore " (Interno Poesia, 2024), a collection of poems divided into three sections and united by the thought of the inevitability of movement and the changes that derive from it, in a presentation accompanied by Sanna Martini and then followed by the poetic-musical digressions of OfficinAcustica , with Anna Lisa Mameli on vocals and Corrado Aragoni on piano. Space immediately follows for " L'isola muta. Viaggio nei silenzi della Sardegna " (Edizioni Della Goccia, 2024), the narration of a scooter journey through the most remote and wild Sardinia in the pandemic era, which is illustrated by the author Andrea Negro together with Mauro Mura and with readings by Toudjian. Finally, magistrate Stefano Vitelli offers his theories on the controversial Garlasco case in " Il ragione dubbio di Garlasco " (Piemme, 2026), in conversation with Follesa.
On Sunday the meetings begin for the last time at 6 pm , starting with Beatrice Masini with " Dammi per sempre giugno " (Molesini Editore Venezia, 2026), whose poetics of small things and everyday life was awarded the coveted Carducci Prize 2026 , illustrated in the company of Sanna Martini and read in its extracts by Toudjian. This is followed by the two-voiced autobiography of life, art and feelings in " Noi due, una lunga storia " (Mondadori, 2004), with the author Enrico de Angelis telling, together with Giovanni Peresson, about the long-lasting and much talked about love between Gino Paoli and Ornella Vanoni, before arriving at the grand finale of " Il re dei ciarlatani / Le canzoni di Dario Fo ", a show conceived and written by De Angelis himself together with Jacopo Fo and Elena Pau , in a formation directed by Alessandro Nidi and completed by Filippo Nidi (trombone), Alessandro Atzori (double bass) and Piepaolo Frailis (drums), a production of La Fabbrica Illuminata. in collaboration with the Dario Fo and Franca Rame Foundation with music by Fiorenzo Carpi, Enzo Jannacci, and many others.
