On the occasion of the celebrations in honor of the Unknown Soldier, the Train of Memory arrives in Cagliari on October 26, during a journey that is touching 730 railway stations throughout Italy .

"The train journey - reads a note released by the Army - is intended to ideally unite all of Italy and all Italians, involving the different generations not to celebrate the myth of war but to remember the sacrifice of those who today, as then , he gave his life for the country ".

The convoy will disembark in Golfo Aranci to cross the Sardinian railway network and will be greeted upon its arrival at the Cagliari station, around 8.15 am, by the Commander of the Sardinian Military Command Stefano Scanu, with a ceremony in the presence of the civil and religious authorities. and soldiers of the island, of the fighting and weapon associations as well as some school groups from different locations on the island.

From Cagliari, then, the train will leave for Palermo.
