The non-hotel sector is growing and in Sardinia in the past summer - between June and July - it recorded a +22% turnover compared to 2022. It is the North East that travels best of all with 26% , Alghero records a + 10% and Southern Sardinia flies with a notable +20% . Cagliari is doing very well with 20 million in turnover , Quartu and Castiadas is also making a leap forward.

These are the numbers presented by the regional councilor for tourism, Gianni Chessa , and the regional president of the non-hotel industry Maurizio Battelli who for the next weekend have made an appointment at the Cagliari tobacco factory for Extra 2023, the tourism exhibition dedicated precisely to world of hotel extras. There are 95 companies involved , including service companies linked to the sector and owners or managers of apartments, holiday homes, villas, B&Bs, guest houses and property managers.

«The free event is the national opportunity for the production chain to meet. “Extra 2023” is a key moment for our industry and our region. As Regional Tourism Councilor I am deeply aware of the importance of every single operator, large or small, in the non-hotel sector. Every action, every choice of every single operator contributes to defining the image of our land in the eyes of the world", said councilor Chessa.
