Pasta from the most famous brand in Italy cost around 80 cents. Now, on average, it is above 1.20 euros. Those who have recently done the shopping know it: in Cagliari (but not only) the expenses for primary goods are galloping. Now the portfolio crisis is also certified by the latest Istat survey, issued by the Municipality, which analyzes the trend in consumer prices in the Sardinian capital. Inflation soars to 8.9% (comparison between September 2022 and 2021) even if compared to August there is a decrease of 0.1%.

The reduction in the economic change (between two consecutive months) consoles very little: it is linked to the reduction in costs for catering (-3%) and transport (-2.7%). But in the latter sector, to understand, prices are 10.7% higher than a year ago.

The sting comes in everyday goods. Food products increased by 11.5% in a year and by 1.6% in a month: there were significant variations in the "Vegetable" (+ 7.6%), "Milk, cheese and eggs" classes (+ 2.6%), "Meat" (+ 1.8%) and "Sugar, jams, honey, chocolate and sweets" (+ 1.1%).

The House and fuels chapter is still hurting: a Cagliari player pays 31.6% more than last year. The paradox? Gas has dropped by 1.1%. For Istat, at least.
