The edition of “SIOS25 Sardinia – Next Edge!”, the great event on innovation organized by StartupItalia with the support of the Fondazione di Sardegna, in collaboration with Innois and Sardegna Ricerche, took place in Cagliari, at Sa Manifattura.
The event – which was sold out and had the theme “HUMANS – The Future is Human” – was attended by startups, investors, businesses and academics for a day of discussion on emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, training and the future of work.
During the event, the “Sardinian Startup of the Year” was also announced, an award that celebrates the most innovative and promising entrepreneurial realities of the Island, capable of generating a concrete impact on the territory and of projecting themselves at a national and international level.
The award was given to Alkelux, founded by Matteo Poddighe and partners in Sassari and which has distinguished itself in the field of food-tech innovation, developing antimicrobial bio-additives starting from the waste of liquorice processing, to extend the shelf life of foods, in particular fruit and vegetable products.
"SIOS Sardinia - commented Giacomo Spissu, President of the Fondazione di Sardegna - is increasingly a place where knowledge, experiences and visions intertwine. The connections that are generated here - between technology and society, between businesses and institutions, between different generations - are the true infrastructure of innovation. In a rapidly evolving global context, it is essential that technological development be accompanied by public regulation capable of protecting rights, guaranteeing transparency and promoting equal access to opportunities. And it is essential to offer young generations the tools to understand and guide change, through educational paths that strengthen digital skills, critical thinking and awareness".
